Preserving Soldiers Stories

November 22, 2025 @ 11:00 am - 12:30 pm

We invite you to join us for a powerful and heartfelt presentation honoring the remarkable women of the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion—better known as the Six Triple Eight. As the only all-Black, all-women unit deployed overseas during World War II, these trailblazing service members took on an enormous mission: to sort and deliver a multi-year backlog of millions of letters and packages destined for American soldiers.

In this talk, Preserving Our Soldiers’ Stories, we explore how the Six Triple Eight brought hope and connection to troops across Europe while overcoming racism, sexism, and the challenges of wartime service. Through inspiring stories, historical insights, and personal accounts, we will shine a light on their courage, innovation, and long-overdue recognition.

Please join us this Saturday at 11 am we honor these unsung heroes and ensure that their stories—and the stories of all who served—are preserved for future generations. We hope to see you there!
